It's Official: Another unsuccessful snow day.

Pretty much every student in the state of Minnesota has just accepted the fact that we are never going to have a snow day. But, on Monday night there was so much hype that it was going to snow so hard and for so long and become so icy that this was going to be the year.....!!!  It didn't happen. Yet.

I would have loved to skip class all day and used these uncommon goods. A mug that would also hold my Samoas and a bowl that makes sure my cereal never gets soggy? Yes, please!
Jacket: J. Crew
T-shirt: J. Crew
Belt: Francesca's
*My favorite/lucky pair--now on sale!*
Rain boots: Burberry

Happy Leap Day!
Make today great because you won't see another
February 29th for 1,460 days!

It's Official: I'm hot for Juicy blazers.

Juicy Couture has always been my favorite source for 'getting ready outfits.' For example, before dances the zip-ups are perfect because you won't ruin your hair changing and can still remain cute and comfy. However, other than that I've never really thought about Juicy other than their stereotypical jumpsuits and graphic tees.

But, hello! What was I thinking? The outerwear right now is sensational! Not to mention the gigantic amount of other Spring Break worthy pieces I love. I'm kind of obsessed with all these stripes!

It's Official: Goodreads changed my life.

Goodreads is the website of my nerdy dreams. I cannot believe it took me this long to join!!

You begin by rating 20 books which are used in a brilliant formula to compile perfect recommendations for future reading. The site encourages you to watch your bookshelf grow while suppling online book clubs, the ability to read/write reviews, connect with friends and set new reading goals. Plus! If you're looking to purchase a new book, they help you compare prices and find the cheapest edition.
I'm currently reading The Elegance Of The Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery. It really isn't similar to any book I've read in the past but the bizarre plot really caught my attention. The story involves Renee, a 54-year-old apartment concierge, and Paloma, a 12-year-old girl who lives in the luxurious apartment complex. Both characters are devoted to hiding their true identities and superior talents from the world until they meet Ozu, a Japanese man who later moves into the apartment building.

So far, so good.

Are you on Goodreads?

It's Official: I'm completely age inappropriate.

I'm about 15 years too old to get this much excitement from a children's store. BUT! I visited our nearby Pottery Barn Kids yesterday and kind of wanted all the bedding for my own room. Not to mention the rugs were cute and they have this fantastic cinderella lamp....!!!

I didn't buy any bedding however,
I did get a couple of the letters with ribbon!
They are just too adorable,
everybody needs at least one!

I also purchased a few things from J.Crew:

Am I out of my mind or is that bedding kind of irresistible?

It's Official: I'm pink and green with envy.

I'm so jealous of any southerner who received a heat wave this week (79 in Tuscaloosa!) and was able to bust out their shorts and/or Norts. We've been getting snow but I'm completely boycotting my jacket.  I've kind of tricked myself into thinking I live in the tropics... hence the pink and green OOTD

OOTD:
Shirt: Ralph Lauren boys 8-20 solid oxford
Bracelets (left to right): Kate Spade, Melly, Tiffany and Co.
iPhone Cover: Lilly Pulitzer
Pants and Boots not pictures but: Ann Taylor and Frye
Nail polish: Sinful Colors in Folly
And I really can't wait to use my Francesca Joy tote in Orlando!!
Happy Saturday! :)

It's Official: Trina Turk + Banana Republic.

I think it's great when designers collaborate with one other--especially unlikely pairs. Now, I might be biased but this duo really caught my attention. In June, Trina Turk is scheduled to release a 60-piece women's collection at Banana Republic stores worldwide. The prices of the pieces range from $49.50 to $150.00 and are "Palm Spring Inspired." They have only published a preview of one look, but I'm already loving it!

How do you feel about designer collaborations?
Trina Turk for Banana Republic?

It's Official: One month until The Hunger Games.

My obsession with The Hunger Games should come at no surprise (see here or here) Tickets to the movie, releasing March 23rd, went on sale yesterday so I hope everybody was able to snatched one up! I'm going with some friends from my Harry Potter midnight crew (remember this?!) and cannot wait. If you haven't read them--trust me--you will have no problem reading all three in one month. They are very easy but very addicting and very worth it!!

Have you read The Hunger Games?
Team Gale or Team Peeta?!

It's Official: My parents are the best!

I went home to visit mom and dad last night (read: stock up on food, do laundry and get a good night of sleep) where they surprised me with a trip to Orlando(!!!) a new J. Crew dress and a matching headband!!! They know me so well... My mom and I leave March 9th!! I'm so excited!!!

I've never been to that part of Florida. Have you?
Suggestions on places to go, shop, eat, see?!

It's Official: I support Fat Tuesday.

Modern day Mardi Gras is not a holiday I particularly understand but I can't help but defend something titled Fat Tuesday. Plus, I really like participating in Lent--I gave up Facebook two years ago and haven't had one since!!

I found this website, Mardi Gras Day, with tons of FAQ's, recipes, games, lingo and other various info on the holiday. I find the meaning behind the three colors of Mardi Gras the most interesting: Purple symbolizes Justice, Gold represents Power and Green represent Faith.
My Mask! Purchased from Pottery Barn last Halloween.
Super simple to replicate with only feathers and sequences!

Vest: Eddie Bauer
Scarf: Burberry
Necklace: Que SerĂ¡

Happy Fat Tuesday!!
Are you giving up anything for Lent?

It's Official: Nautical chocolate for the win.

A friend of mine recently raved about this magical Mast Brothers chocolate bar she knew I would appreciate. The company wraps their chocolate in the most amazing packaging. I'm obsessed with all the patterns!! And, although I've never tried it, supposedly what is on the inside is just as phenomenal.
My favorite packaging!

Have you ever heard of Mast Brothers?
Better yet, been lucky enough to try it?

It's Official: It's never too late for a new calendar.

In my mind it's still the beginning of the year and I'm still excited by a new calendar. I think the best way to start off March on the right foot is with one of these lovely Linda & Harriett calendars. I love how whimsical and bright the designs are. And, the nautical notepads making jotting down lists extra fun. Am I right or am I right?
My personal favorite item is the Sandpipers Notepad.
How amazing is that anchor? And those crabs?!

Obsessed.

It's Official: I'm a scarf hoarder.

I have a gigantic passion for scarfs and the kind doesn't matter--silk, cotton, flannel, bedazzled--I love them all.  I have so many it's boarder line hoarders. Okay, ew, not really!! But, I latch one onto something, somehow, almost every day. My favorite unconventional way is to tie one onto a purse.
My version: Tommy Hilfiger scarf latched onto my speedy 30

I also love the idea of a scarf as a bracelet...

I recently saw this gorgeous picture of a scarf tied around a hat on
tumblr and for some reason it really resonated with me.
I can't explain why but I'm suppppper obsessed with it.

How amazing is that combination?
Can you think of another way to unconventionally use a scarf?

It's Official: Jack Wills follow-up.

I forgot to mention on Sunday while posting about Jack Wills that I also ordered a Rugby dress for myself. Only $34.00, no sales tax AND free shipping? How could I say no? Because the brand is based out of the UK and the dress shipped overseas, I assumed it would take awhile to arrive. Needless to say when I came home to a package only 2 business days later, I was ecstatic. OOTD for tomorrow, check!
Cannot get over how great of a deal this was!

Any other American's jumping on the JW bandwagon?

It's Official: We all need The Ascot.

Every preppy girl knows the appeal of 1) the perfect shoe and 2) Stubbs and Wootton. But, the price tag can be very daunting. That's why I find these Eliza B Ascot Flats ($120 compared to ~$400!) as the best choice for your next wardrobe addition.
The best part is the customization!
You can choose from four velvet colors,
four trim colors
AND
add either a monogram or a motif.
I obviously love the monogram choice but also think the sloop would be fantastic with navy + gold.
What combination is your first choice?
