It's Official: Sunlight, sun bright.

I often do things under the assumption that everyone else does it, too. Cue to yesterday... I went to the beach with a couple friends and brought lemons for our hair - to lighten it obviously. However, nobody believed my intentions and everyone thought I was trying to film an impromptu episode of Punk'd. In reality, squeezing lemon juice into my hair is something I do every summer. I've tried various other lightening sprays but never like the results I get as much as the ones that come from natural lemon juice. Plus, you don't have to be at all careful about applying the juice, it will magically bring out your natural highlights.

Directions: Get your hair wet and part it in your more normal and natural hairstyle. Cut the lemon in half and again - making four slices. squeeze the lemon from the top of your head focusing mainly on the roots and the front sections of your hair. Lay out in the sun and wait for your hair to completely air dry and wall-ah!

*Warning: I do not have color-treated hair so I don't know what effect the lemons would have in that case. Also, I wouldn't suggest doing this around people you may be trying to... impress... as your hair will become crusty and displeasing until you shower!!*

I see no reason why this is only for blondes.
I'm an obvious brunette and love the results!
Have you even squeezed lemons in your hair?

  1. Yes, a couple of weekends each summer when I was in HS. I too enjoyed the natural gloss the lemons+sun gave my hair.

  2. I used to do that when I was in high school, which is longer then I care to admit. I have light brown hair and I usually try to make it darker. I might have to try it again this summer for a differ look.

  3. I did Sun-In back in middle school! I ended up dying it back, though; not my thing.
