I read The Great Gatsby once as an assignment in high school and do not remember enjoying it. Despite everything, I wanted to give it another try with the new movie coming out in December. I dove into the novel yesterday while sitting by the pool and the next thing I knew I was finished (and sunburnt). What? How naïve was I for not originally worshipping it? Although I don't usually like movie renditions of anything, I'm certain I will be seeing this film in theaters. It has also been especially fun having the full cast and crew already on IMDB to help imagine who will play each character!

How do you feel about Leo playing Gatsby?
What about the movie being in 3D?

ReplyDeleteI felt the same mamy years ago when TGG was a school reader, since I must admit I have read it at least 8 times. Cant wait for the new movie release! But Ill find it hard to pass over Robert Redford. Xx
I read it this year for my honors English class and I loved the book. It was so good! I can't wait to see the movie. And I think Leo will make a great Gatsby.

ReplyDeleteHey Lilly, I read the book in Junior english and i loved it!!!!!! Its like the best plot ever and the fact that when you break it down, its beautiful people drinking, partying and basically behaving badly but underneath it all they are all very complex. I hope the movie is as good, i won't be seeing it in 3D cause that seems a little iffy but i will be seeing it!
ReplyDeleteI am beyond PUMPED. I have adored the novel since high school, and I am a lifelong Leo fan (definitely had glossy cutouts of him in my 5th grade locker). Not sure about the 3D - usually, they scare me but I think it could be really fantastic!
